Safety Tips

Tomorrow is promised to no one. Prioritize today accordingly.

“Tomorrow is promised to no one. Prioritize today accordingly.” I saw this quote in an article I read some time ago.  I think of it it often, when I am planning my day or week.

It’s been two weeks since the 7.8 earthquake was felt around New Zealand.

Everywhere you look, the message is clear – if we live in New Zealand we must prepare for natural disasters.

I truly believe that if you have not taken any action by now, no matter how good your intentions, you just aren’t going to do it.  Sure it might be on your “to do” list.  You might even get lucky, and get your kit, or water, or plan together, before the next really big shake, but will you?

Take some action.  One of these. All of these.

  1. Make plan/s with the people that are important to you. A family plan. Or a friend plan.  Or a workplace plan.  The people you thought about when the ground was shaking – make a plan with them.
  2. Put together a kit.  A ‘get away’ kit.  A home kit. A car kit.  Whatever kit/s you need for your life.
  3. Check your smoke alarm.  If you can’t remember the last time you changed the battery in the alarm, change it today.
  4. Do something.  Anything.  Today.

Stay safe, and be prepared!
